Dr. Capen-Kerns was raised in Iowa, earned a Bachelors of Arts in Biology from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She has practiced small animal general medicine in Phoenix, AZ prior to starting her specialty residency with the Animal Dental Center (ADC) in February 2023. Dr. Capen-Kerns loves doing outdoor activities including hiking, paddleboarding, and kayaking. She and her wife, who is also a veterinarian, have two mixed breed dogs (which she lovingly calls “the monsters”) and one cat that runs the household. Dr. Capen-Kerns and her wife are hoping to welcome a new two-legged child to their family later this year!

The board-certified veterinary dentists at Animal Dental Center have the extensive knowledge, expertise, and specialized equipment to determine the extent and severity of your pet’s oral disease and to provide appropriate treatment. You will have peace of mind knowing your pet is receiving a professional dental cleaning, diagnosis through radiographs and treatment of periodontal disease and other oral pathology.
